Sodium bombs
Good lord. You're not kidding. Over 2000mg per can with only 270 calories. I believe like 1000-1500mg is the currently daily recommendation with many nutritionists indicating lower might be better. PS. I know someone will post something saying unlimited sodium is good/harmless. Go ahead and eat this soup then!

Now now, before you get all paranoid about salt, make sure your not one of the 58% of healthy people who are salt-resistant. Sodium doesn't cause a rise in BP in those people. You may even belong to the 10-16% of people who have INVERSE salt sensitivity -- like me. We actually have to eat extra sodium to keep our blood pressure down. I currently eat 2-3x the RDA and the BP is 105/72.

As an experiment, I ate 2 cans of Chunky soup, a big bag of pork rinds and Chinese takeout within 3 hours. Absolutely no rust on BP. However, when I took a week eating the RDA as well as potassium supplements, my BP went up to 130+/80+.

So don't get paranoid about sodium until you see if you're sodium sensitive. However, too much sodium can cause organ damage so yeah, cutting down is not a bad idea.

Excessive sodium is bad. Not sure why anyone would debate that. You can use a healthier but more expensive option in potassium to get around it. But on the other end, your body needs a daily dosage of sodium. It's got what plants crave - electrolytes.

As for the deal, solid. Great food shelter/food drive donation option.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Try this link:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/subscri...ave/manage

If that doesn't work, click on your profile on the upper right, next to the cart (I'm using the mobile version of the site on my phone). You should see SUBSCRIBE & SAVE. Click SUBSCRIPTIONS on top.

Now find the item. If you don't see it, use the Search field. Click on EDIT (under the picture) and you should see the option to CANCEL. Have fun!
