Just got some cheap versions for $16 for four of them on prime day, I think they're still $20 now ,they work fine slightly bigger , but I bury them. No one sees them so who cares and they do work with find me look for ATUVOS if you're interested...

Airtag 2.0 is supposed to have three times better range which is a big advantage for my use case which is pet tracking.

Great set: car, wife's bag, kid's backpack, and a spare. Anyone found other clever uses for these?

I use V1 in vehicles with disabled speakers so can thief doesn't get a heads-up, don't know if V2 will tolerate that mod.

Pretty much indefinitely with battery changes, I haven't had one fail yet.

Yeah, I've had these for years. Very battery efficient. You can also find a device on aliexpress that allows you to use lithium AA batteries with airtag 1.0 for much longer usage, albeit with larger form factor.
I like the new range increase for 2.0, but I don't like the audio change. I'd prefer the option to remove audio it to make it harder to find in my car.

Battery is a standard 2032 so you just replace that. A good battery lasts several months, up to a year!
