I agree that the Anchor measuring cups are soda lime silica glass but are tempered which makes them much stronger. It puts the outer layers in compression. This is what they do with the side windows of automobile windows and plate glass windows. It's tough stuff! Tempered glass is very durable but not as resistant to thermal shock as borosilicate, as has already been mentioned by others. For everyday home use, they should be fine. I can't comment on ease of pouring or the measurement markings as others did. I'm a materials engineer, so my forte here is glass type and properties. Even with pyrex, it's thermal shock resistant but not thermal shock proof, so you should be careful with drastic temperature changes. Going directly from the refrigerator to a preheated oven can cause borosilicate glass to crack.

The Pyrex 4 cup glass is notorious for spilling when pouring because of the poorly designed spout

Not borosilicate glass. Sad.

In my experience these don't have a sharp clean pour. Pyrex has a better more precise pour

No - always want to have a wooden spoon or other thermal shock absorber in with the water if boiling in the microwave with these...

Can second the Pyrex spills when it isn't poured extra slow.
I'd be all over these if they embossed the graduations like their batter bowl... The ink on these tend to begin showing wear within a year

How does the 4 cup pour? The Pyrex 4 cup has burnt me a few times because I didndidn't pour fast enough and the water stuck to the measuring cup and burnt the had holding the container that I was pouring into. My plastic one would not have done this even if I tried.

Pyrex is better.

I have these Anchor brand ones and they fade. After a couple years you can barely see the measurements, goes from red to pink fast. On the other hand, I have Pyrex that is 10+ years old and still looks new.

These are garbage. If you wash them in the dishwasher, they will fade pretty quickly.

If you buy the individual Anchor Hocking glass measuring cups from Walmart, they're $11.91+tax with free shipping with a Walmart+ membership. The 1 and 2 cup version appears to be incorrectly described with gallons instead of ounces.

1 cup $2.77: https://www.walmart.com/ip/14938487
2 cup $3.97: https://www.walmart.com/ip/14938488
4 cup $5.17: https://www.walmart.com/ip/14938489

Edit: Fixed the links on my desktop. The Android app I originally used to post my comment messed them up.

Pyrex ones are not better.

The reason you are having good results from yours is that yours is an older Pyrex design. They've changed since you bought yours to a much lower quality so comparing the Pyrex of old to the Pyrex of today is not a fair comparison.

I only have one measuring cup that pours smooth and it is a 10+ year old 2 cup Pyrex but it is so old that the letters are starting to fade a decent amount (especially towards the bottom). My 4-piece Pyrex set that I bought 5.5 years ago in 2020 is awful. None of them pour smoothly and the markings faded so quickly that they all needed to really be replaced within about a year of owning them.
