you can still get 3rd party hardware (pates, extruders, hotends, ect.), but the SW... after have other brands for years and futzing with all sorts of opensores solutions, nah, i want SW designed for the tool that does exactly what it should every time.
as for print jobs through the cloud... i'm much more concerned about my camera feeds, they can have my print jobs

The upgrades that the P2S offers are minimal, the biggest being the nozzle design. But let me offer a counter point: The X1C design has been in use for years. The bugs have been worked out.
As for this deal it's still pretty good. The only weak point is the AMS as the AMS 2 Pro is far superior. The P2S has a lot of newer stuff but I actually use the lidar on the X1C and I print a lot of ASA/ABS so the chamber fan is helpful. Plus they will be supporting it with updates for two more years and security patches for 4 more.
U1 is an interesting design, can't wait until it gets into users hands at a large scale to see how it performs. design innovation is good for us, the consumers... BambuLabs kicked a rather stagnant market group in the ass when they came out with their first printer, i'm glad more manufacturers are being forced to innovate while keeping these printers within an affordable range.
