Strengths (What it does well)
• For large size, the price / features balance is generous: you're getting a huge 85″ screen with QLED color, HDR, and gaming features for far less than flagship models.
• In brighter rooms or daytime viewing, it performs decently because the overall screen brightness is good enough to compete with ambient light (though not perfect).
• The smart features (Google TV, app support, HDR formats) and connectivity (HDMI 2.1, VRR) make it future-proof for consoles and streaming.
• Viewing angle is relatively forgiving compared to many LED TVs, so off-center seating is less of a penalty.
⸻
👎 Weaknesses & Trade-offs (Where it disappoints)
• Poor black levels / contrast: Because there is no local dimming, dark scenes look washed out and blacks are more gray than deep black. This is one of the biggest compromises.
• Limited HDR impact: Bright highlights (e.g. explosions, sunbeams) won't "pop" as much because the panel can't sustain very high brightness.
• Reflection / glare issues in dark scenes: In dark rooms or with lights behind the viewer, reflections become more noticeable.
• Uniformity inconsistencies: Some edge-dimming, dirty screen effect, non-perfect brightness uniformity have been observed.
• Motion in fast scenes: Pixel response is not perfect; in very fast motion (sports, action) you can see blur / "smearing."
• It's not a premium display: Compared to OLEDs, higher end mini-LEDs, or TVs with many local dimming zones, image fidelity (especially in dark scenes) lags behind.
Outstanding deal but probably hard to find in most areas. I live in two different states with 4 combined Costco Warehouses in the area, and this deal isn't available in either one.
To confirm availability at your warehouse...
In the Costco app, tap on warehouse (at bottom for Android users) and enter the Item # 9485065.
UPDATE: This one is only supposed to be an online deal. Please update the OP.

From full site page (not from app or mobile site): Edit>Go Advanced if you still cannot get to the title from there.
P.S. Repped and thank you, @FuschiaLaborer329 for pointing it out. Easy to miss because the only reason I clicked on the link was to provide everyone with the way to check in their warehouse. I am not actively seeking this deal and the method is relatively new.

Dam that's a crazy deal. Why ppl complaining about an 85 inch tv for 500 dollar that can handle gaming 120hz is beyond me. Find one that's 85 inch and reputable for 500

We were just advised this one is only an online deal only...<br />
See my edit.
Thank you also. I meant I frequently call costco local to see if a sku is in stock or how many are there. The advice of using the phone app might save me the call to the warehouse for any item.

I got a 85QD7N last year for $500 from some weird outlet a few towns over. I love it. Decent picture, true 144hz and android apps make it the best tv I own.
