All ears to hear of a better option that's priced similarly and meets all these "needs" you speak of.

Dude why are you being rude. AJ asked how good this was, not how good it was for the price. Needs can include movie watching, sports, or gaming. The latter one is a much more enjoyable experience with higher refresh rate.

I have this TV and the 50" for outside porch and patio use. For the money, they are FANTASTIC. The picture is great.
The only issue with these cheap TVs is the processing unit. Using the menu, startup, etc are a bit slow. Unfortunately, there is no widely used metric to track how good a processing unit a TV has.

I'd rethink this - I didn't respond to AJ.. I responded to another commenter.
