ROTFL!! What am I supposed to do with an 18v trimmer, spank my grass, weeds, and soil? It is a good price but a useless product, IMO. Thank you for sharing though!
Pretty odd take, 18v is generally great for most homeowners. Wouldn't recommend this though, bad bad stories from DTO and factory reconditioned products.

I'd recommend the 40v model. Works great with the thick weeds. This one would probably work with the smaller stuff.

This one is great for a yard you keep up on and routinely trim the same stuff over and over again every time you mow. Anything where you have to beat back some weeds... Or maybe skip a trim every other mow... 40v for sure.

All that said, the 40 volt is way more powerful and will make any job way easier and faster. If you aren't set on sticking with your 18 volt system going 40 volt for all your outside tools will be a huge step up.

So I've had its little brother for a few years now, the Ryobi PCLST01B 10" model and it is surprisingly capable for smaller one. Disclaimer: I also have a Stihl FS-40 to back it up, so when I have to get into anything really overgrown and I want to blast through it quickly I use that, but probably like 70% of the time I just get the little Ryobi 10"-er out. It's lighter, quieter and with some patience can still knock down fairly thick grass. Don't depend on it for anything more than thick grass, though. This could really be a chance worth taking if you've got 50 bucks burning a hole in your pocket AND you have something a bit more powerful to back it up. I really like having the option of using a smaller, quieter one.

I regularly use this exact Ryobi 18v trimmer to keep up with weeds and trim. I'm a homeowner. Clearly this is not a professional tool.

If you've never bought a reconditioned tool from DTO, be aware they take a branding iron and melt RECON into the plastic. Sometimes it's superficial and sometimes it's unnecessarily deep- and on occasion it melts a void into the tool. All that said, that's why I only recommend using their refurbs and avoid their recons.

The brand new Ryobi 15" brushless model only $70 on clearing at HD is better choice if you still want to stay with 18V. It is good for small to medium yard.
