Why would anyone use this when Bitwarden is free?

It's a good deal, for the first year. New users just know if you get hooked, $60 a year after.

My issue is that they no longer have stand alone versions and store all your passwords in the cloud. Seems to me that having a place in the cloud where all your passwords are stored is inconsistent with security, no matter how good they claim it is encrypted.

The equivalent Bitwarden product is $40. I choose 1Password because the interface and user experience is more polished and easier to use across the platforms I need it for--Windows, Mac, iOS/iPadOS. Vault management in Bitwarden is still clunky compared to 1Password. The browser extensions have gotten better, but still aren't as snappy. My wife enjoys the 1Password interface, so I also get compliance with password manager use--as opposed to Bitwarden experience she will just choose to avoid.

I don't care for how much 1Password is moving away from the average user and towards enterprise and VC-money-fueled distractions, but at this point it is still worth the $20 premium for us.

Great deal! It worked for me. If it doesn't work the first time, install the browser extension first and try the link again. Thanks for sharing! 😀

I was a multiyear Roboform user, they jacked up the price so I switched to Bitwarden and never looked back.

Go read about 1PW's security model: https://support.1password.com/1pa...-security/
It has a 128bit secret key. Even they are breached, it's worthless data.

Agree completely. Try Keepass. My friends say they like it. It's standalone on desktop.

I have been using dashlane for several years and hate it. It saves PWs in doubles and triples and doesn't save new PWs consistently and across all my devices. So even if i hsve 3 PWs for the same site none are correct. i may give this a try
I've been using Dashlane for about 10 years and have been very happy with it. I would like a "travel mode", dedicated desktop app and ability to merge domains from same company, outside of that works great.

I don't need this because all my passwords are Password1.

Edit: Anyone know how to get a hacked SlickDeals account back?

If your company uses 1Password you get a free premium account as a separate vault. I asked one of their corporate reps at a trade show what happens if you leave the company and they said you get 60 days to convert it to a paid family account. Has been working well for me

I do not know why someone would need anything else than Bitwarden

I am using bitwarden, what is the major benefits of 1password? I don't care to pay, more concerned on the convenience and security
The major benefit for me is that it's easy enough for family members to use. The organizations/collections method of item sharing in Bitwarden isn't nearly as intuitive as shared vaults in 1Password.
