This Yale Assure Lock 2 is a Bluetooth only, key free deadbolt that fits shoppers who want a sleek budget smart lock with long battery life. The push button keypad is favored over touch for easier use in gloves and better visibility, and auto lock can work well when DoorSense sees the door fully closed. The main tradeoffs are no built in Wi Fi, no key slot on this version, and the Yale app and Wi Fi module have a poor reliability reputation. It is a practical pick if you want simple local control and can live without remote access.

I am in the market for some smart locks. Have been thinking about this one

Seems extra 30 dollars bring a lot more features plus a handle compared to this. Can anyone please help me understand why this Yale lock is a good deal and while the Philips one is not? Sincerely asking the question. Thanks in advance.

The Home Depot page lists the model number as YRD430-BLE-BSP but if you search that on the Yale page (https://shopyalehome.com/products...-bluetooth) that model number is touchscreen with Bluetooth

I looked at smart locks for a long time. I've bought multiple and ended up returning them (Yale, August, Wyze). Finally I bit the bullet and decided to get a Schlage Encode Plus for apple HomeKit compatibility. Best lock out there imho. Yes they are expensive, but they are worth it with less issues (in my case 0 issues). Batteries lasted over a year (connected via thread) never lose connectivity, well built, manual key hole as backup.
