This isn't the touch screen model and doesn't have a key slot, if that matters. Bluetooth only, no WiFi. Grade 2 security, so mid grade.

The touch biometric and apple key models are better, but either way, the locks are good and stylish. Battery should last a long time without WiFi.

What the best budget one you recommend?

Same price on Amazon. I have these installed in black. I like this one over the WiFi due to price + battery life. I don't usually need to remotely open my doors and like the peace of the mind to be able auto-lock after X mins. I would recommend this one as a sleek budget option. FYI the Yale app is also horrible.

If budget is your only factor, this one is just fine. Heard good things about Aqara as well. Schlage Encode is my preferred, but much more industrial looking than Yale, and expensive.

I don't recommend buying a lock without a door sensor (which this lacks) - it will bang up the area around the latch pretty badly. Only buy if you have some kind of a spring to push the door back to close or you always remember to close the door behind you

It does has a sensor (magnetic) that detect if the door is closed

Where does it say that?

If you're assuming DoorSense is what I'm talking about, no - DoorSense just tells you if the door is open or close. It doesn't affect the auto locking. If auto locking is on, the deadbolt will still come out even if the door is open or not shut right and ram into your jamb if the door is almost getting close or almost close

This is a pretty good deal. I have had probably five different versions of the Assure Lock 2 (don't ask). I actually prefer the push button versus touch screen in usage as long as you can get past seeing the buttons all of the time. The tactile feel of buttons and being able to see them right away is great.

Bluetooth also is much better than WiFi due to battery usage (WiFi eats batteries at 2x speed).

The DoorSense feature does indeed know whether the door is open or closed and will prevent the door from auto-locking if it senses the door is open.

Occasionally I've found that the DoorSense feature needs to be recalibrated after changing batteries, but it doesn't seem to be every time.

Currently I have three different Assure Lock 2's up and running in my house.

The push buttons are WAY better if you are in cold climate for those days you are wearing gloves coming home, this is why I bought the button version in NY after installing the touchscreen version for my parents in FL.
Also... you should be able to add a Wifi/Z-Wave/Zigbee module (not cheap) to these locks, right? This is just the base lock that comes with bluetooth and no add-on module.

Absolute crap. I purchase the touch screen version along with a Lockly. The Lockly went onto the most used door and the Yale went to the front door. I got these to open the door remotely for my MIL. The Assure eat batteries with the Wi-Fi module and always disconnected from the Wi-Fi, app never worked, and if my MIL hadn't crossed over. I would have rid of it. I just don't use that door so it doesn't matter now. Yale solution was to make sure the lock was close to the router. I guess the 3' wasn't close enough.
I ended up installing the Zigbee module to use with Home Assistant.
