If you have the space tho def go single 12 or above, I tried this for gaming/music but it just didn't go as low as I wanted (20hz or less). Went with the SB-1000 instead, similar form factor but lower hz, 12" woofer
I have one of these. Let me throw out my disclaimer now: this is a very good subwoofer for it's size. If you have space limitations it is a very good choice. I put one in my bedroom. However, I have some older subs (Polk PSW 505 and JBL Studio 150P) in my basement system that play just as loud individually and lower than the SVS. This SVS really fades starting around 32hz and there was no adjustments in the app that could make it play SVS's advertised+/-3db down at 23hz. I have no idea where SVS comes up with that number as it's frequency response graph clearly shows a big decibal drop off after @35hz. Don't expect much in the 20-30hz range. But the size is key here. It will fit in places most subs won't, for dual 8" subs it does sound very good, and is definitely more accurate than my ported subs. It's plenty loud. Anyways, very good sub but don't go by the SVS frequency response specs.
I will echo other sentiments here and say this SVS 3000 Micro sub is amazing for its size. It's an engineering miracle. Having said that it IS a compromise piece.
If you need this look and this size it will not be beat.
If you can go bigger, and don't care how it looks, you can get better sound. But it will be bigger and likely will not look half as nice.

How's the SB1000 treating you, especially in games?
