Even if you plan on keeping it set on the charger all the time in use, it'll still run its battery down during use. One of the most seemingly deliberate instances of 'planned obsolescence' I've ever seen. I returned mine because of that.
They should have designed it to heat directly off the wall power source and not touch the battery if it's actively sitting on the pad.

Buy a zojirushi thermos, much cheaper and can hold hot/cold without electric for long time. Trust me, I have both and I gave away this look cool but useless mug supposed to keep drink hot but didn't even come with lid (they want $15 for the lid).

A mug for $90?? Tell me tariffs aren't real
Oof...tell me you've never seen an ember mug before without telling me you've never seen an ember mug before. This is usually the refurb price if you're lucky

Awful customer support. I had two of them and they both didn't last a year, something about the connector on the charging base gets easily damaged. I liked the concept of this product but in practice it's bad. You guys are better off getting a regular warmer base to put regular cups on.

Love my ember. I love how people don't complain about spending 5 bucks on a coffee out which is over a hundred a month but complain about a game changing mug that you will have the perfect temperature coffee at home or the office for several years at 80 bucks. No your double walled mug isn't comparable

I love my Ember mug. It is one of those things that was ridiculous but has become an essential part of my life. My Ember Mug2 charging plate stopped working after 2-years, returning to Costco, buying this with the extended warranty. Rinse and repeat. IYKYK.

Could not agree more with their customer support being terrible. I had one where one of the pins stopped popping up to charge. It took weeks to get someone to respond and when they did they wanted me to buy a new charging coaster. It was only 4 months old. Eventually nearly 3 months later I was back in business. I do like the mug. I wouldn't buy one though. Mine was a gift Big Grin

I recently purchased a black Ember Mug 2 last year, but it has proven to be quite a hassle to use. The charging base was replaced because the charging pin became recessed. Currently but the mug constantly displaying "empty" On the app and doesn't heat up without performing a complete reset and re-pair. Considering these issues, I would not recommend purchasing this mug again. Instead, I would suggest investing in a reliable and durable vacuum thermos, such as a good Yeti or another brand.

I wouldn't call it life changing, but I do like my "cordless" coffee cup. The charging pins appear to be a weak point. There's a YouTube video about how to repair them if one is so inclined. I've put a little silicone lubricant on them and avoid putting a cup with a wet bottom on the coaster. Hopefully that will avoid the repair. Mine was a Woot "refurbished". So far, so good.

One of the best purchases I've ever made! Sounds ridiculous, but so be it!

I purchased my first one from Costco (March 2021). It started chipping by October 2021, and Ember immediately replaced the mug only. The replacement mug started chipping, but not until I'd had it for three years. That is when the original coaster started to fail, after three years and seven months! Side note: The mug was almost always on the coaster, even when not being used.

December 2024 I purchased the stainless one and haven't had any issues, except for the horrible app update last year that has since been resolved.

Apparently I have been really lucky with mine.
