Breville Precision Brewer stands out for precise temperature control and strong brew quality, especially for full pots and larger batches. The brew temperature, bloom time, and flow rate get high marks, and the machine can automatically adjust for single cup or smaller volumes under 4 cups. It also runs well day after day, with hot coffee holding for several hours in the steel carafe version. The main drawbacks are the need to measure and refill carefully, leftover water in the basket, and a glass carafe that may not keep coffee as hot.

  • daily coffee drinkers who want consistent full-pot quality because the thermo block + pump setup gives very similar full-pot results to other premium models, and commenters specifically praised the brew temperature, bloom time, and flow rate.

  • owners who are okay measuring and refilling water for each brew because the machine requires exact refill for each brew (and commenters noted you can't just rely on a reservoir without measuring).

  • people brewing smaller amounts (under 4 cups / 20oz) because the brewer recognizes the SINGLE CUP/SMALLER VOLUMES range and automatically adjusts brew settings for better tasting coffee.

  • single-serve users who pour cold water from the fridge/filter because one commenter said for single serve around the 4-cup line it can taste too cold unless you use room-temperature water.

  • buyers who want to avoid leftover water in the filter basket because one commenter reported that when drip stop activates there's leftover water in the basket (e.g., 10oz input yielding only ~7-8oz coffee), which led them to return the unit.

  • people who don't want to measure and refill daily because the removable reservoir and limited brew capability (only about 1/4 of the carafe) means you have to measure/refill each day and overfilling can dilute the coffee.

Yes but it's tricky: Because it is a large flat basket filter holder, it uses a #4 cone adapter . When the automatic drip stop activates after brewing, more than a little water is left in bottom of basket. You'd think pour 10oz of water in for a 10oz cup but you'd end up with just 7-8oz of coffee and have to dump basket out. Part of why I returned.
dang. i really want a machine like the Braun Multiserve but that also blooms the beans (and would be awesome if it heated water for tea like some of them do too haha).

Are you referring to this one [costco.com]?

I'm asking in earnest, other than price, why would you go with the Ninja? I have no need for the dual brew feature. If it's better for brewing coffee, I'd go with the Ninja.
Removable water reservoir and capability to brew 1/4 of carafe. If you buy this one you have to measure and refill water reservoir every day. If you put too much water you get diluted coffee. Plus Ninja is $50 cheaper at Costco warehouse.
