good catch. This is what google told me "The main beach at Hacienda del Mar is generally not swimmable due to strong currents, though it is beautiful for walking. Guests can access a swimmable beach at the nearby Palmilla Beach"

Considering how things are escalating with the drug cartels, it may be wise to stay away from certain countries until things settle a bit.

I've travelled to many places this year and Cabos is one of the places I simply cannot recommend. It's very Americanized and extremely touristy. Most of the beach is not swimmable and everything is overpriced and low quality. I stayed at the 5 star resorts and was almost embarrassed they thought it was cool. Go to Cancun instead if you want to experience more Mexico with money being spent the right way. Also, cartels don't bother tourists at all. Just don't do go looking for trouble and you'll be perfectly fine. Mexico is safe and very friendly. Just thought I'd share my insights as a fellow traveler. Cheers!

You can find cancun all inclusive for $300 per night. Kids under 12 free. Having been to all the three, Puerto Vallarta and cancun are definitely better than Cabo.

I've been to Cabo several times. This hotel is on the Pacific Ocean side - waves there are the size of a tsunami. And, no view of the Arches. It seems close to the main port, where you can find another public beach. Regardless, I would stay somewhere on the inner side (Sea of Cortes). There are many other luxury hotels in Cabo.
Also, Cancun and Playa del Carmen area is multitudes better for beach vacationing, and I agree that Cabo is the most expensive of all and completely not worth the insane prices people there are asking for. Probably worth it if you have to harbor your 100+ yacht while sailing the west coast. If you don't have a luxury yacht, you have no place there.

I mostly agree other than the beaches at Cabo San Lucas are very much pleasant & swimmable. The beaches at San Jose del Cabo are a different story. Strong crashing waves, strong currents but beautiful to watch. If you travel by car throughout the Cabos including Cabo Pulmo, it's a whole different world. Like anything else stay away from tourists traps and research before going.

Your response makes me think that you don't have much experience traveling to Mexico.

Tourist areas in Mexico brought in 8.6% of Mexico's GDP in 2024 at $32.96b, with 2025 they are estimating it going up to 15.1% at $281b. If you consider specific locations like Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, and Cancun, their local GDP is significantly higher. If cartels started affecting tourists, tourists would stop going to that location, thus impacting the city and even country's income. So the cartels would have their own country's police and army in addition to the tourist country going after them... Cartels are not that dumb.

So, unless you are looking for trouble or going to the known bad areas which are NOT the tourist hotspots, you're safe.

You would name the 5 star resort if you actually stayed there. Stop blowing smoke. You wouldnt be on slick deals if you regularly stayed at the four seasons for $1500 a night.

Cabo Pulmo +1! The most incredible scuba diving you can find these parts of the world. if you do go look for David Castro, An amazing diver and person to speak with. Cabo is nice to fly if you live in SoCal area (or SW region), quick flight for a nice getaway. But if you choosing over other destinations there are def better options. This deal is prob for those already set on going to Cabo and looking for a hotel of this caliber. Enjoy!
