Unless AMC very recently tweaked how Yellow and Black tickets work, they do cover new releases/opening weekends. Just used a few this way last week.

They didn't change it. The note on Giftory is incorrect. The tickets actually read: "These tickets exclude opening night fan events, double features, marathons,..."

Seems rife with AMC people wondering what you are trying to give them and seems like some fake scammy deal thing, not even close to worth the trouble to deal with some weird email ticket to get into the movies then showing some strange printout that says you get drinks and popcorn having to bumble and argue with some zoomer teen that rightfully is skeptical about emails phone deals.

Used this deal a few months back (for Black tix, since I'm in CA) and AMC added a $6/ticket fee to see a new release with them. And this was in the plain old seats, not dolby or imax or anything. Then add the $2/ticket convenience fee for booking online on top and it was almost like paying full price... Decided I'd rather wait an extra couple weeks than pay that nonsense for tickets I supposedly already paid for. Will not be buying these again. (Nor will I be going to AMC again if I can avoid it... their fees have gotten ridiculous.)
