Good deal. I have few of these and are great for cool weather.
40s and 50 degrees are perfect.
I do think they are too thin for below freezing.
They seem to last as well.

Is it good for layered? I'm planning a trip to California during the winter vacation and was thinking if this will be good under a puffer jacket. I wanted to have layers to be able to remove if its too hot while hiking

Yes, these are perfect for layering! I live in Chicago and wear these almost everyday in the winter. Also, I strongly recommend that women by the men's version that's featured in this post rather than the women's version. The women's version has a scoop neck which leaves a significant portion of skin uncovered. Obviously, these are undershirts so your skin will not be exposed to the elements but I found the women's version to not be nearly as warm because of this.

I have purchased several from Costco, but the ones they stock now are way too thin for snow. They used to sell a slightly thicker one, but not anymore.

If you go to 32 degrees website, you can get the thicker ones. I think they advertise it as a midweight base layer.
