Thanks OP. Got one. Could never justify the full price but these recent Ooni discounts at BB are much more reasonable

You could also put a 10" Lodge cast iron skillet in. Better searing, better control of grease splatter. The grizzler's only advantage would be the detachable handle.

I thought about doing that. But given that the Ooni oven gets crazy hot, it'll likely ruin the seasoning on most cast iron pans. I didn't want to risk ruining my regular Lodge pan for this

That's right, it'll get far hotter than the smoke point of the oil Lodge uses for its factory seasoning and burn it off. Granted the same thing will happen to the Ooni cast iron too, there's no way around that, it's just chemistry.
