Make sure you test it thoroughly while still within Acme's return window. I bought a refurb Ego snow blower a few years ago, briefly tested it out upon receipt, and then realized it was a dud when it snowed for the first time that year. It took over 18 months to get Ego to replace it. I have more than a dozen Ego tools, and they all work great. Their customer service is just plan awful, though, so deal with the merchants as much as possible.

All that being said, their snow blowers are great for light to moderate snow. This is not going to chew through 30 inches of wet snow, but it'll take care of several inches of snow (maybe 10"-12" of powder or 6"-8" of wet snow) without breaking a sweat.

I have the EGO 2 stage snowblower and it works great, But this single stage is awesome for $300 as backup. I could even leave this at my moms house and bring only the batteries. for $300 its a good deal. if you get out there while its still snowing with this, and keep up as best you can. You can run it a few times before it gets too deep. I am in Northeast PA, so a good snowblower is crucial !

Can anyone let us know if you can mix match batteries with this unit? Like putting in a 7.5ah battery and a 5ah? I'm asking because I own 7.5, 5 and two of the 4ahs.

Yes you can mix and match all ego batteries with their product line, just be aware that using lower amp hour batteries in harsher conditions (ie wet snow) might not give you sufficient run time to fully accomplish the task.

I have this snowblower. It works fine for the snow amount in my area. There imo is a design flaw. The metal body surrounding the auger comes in direct contact with the ground so any uneven surface or cracks in the concrete jolts you to a stop. It's can actually get pretty violent. I think they remedy this in the new model with plastic snow shoes on the bottom. I ended up modding my machine with some and it's worked wonders.
