This eufy SoloCam S3 Pan Tilt is a solar powered outdoor camera best suited for wireless monitoring without monthly fees. The pan and tilt view, spotlight for color night video, and Homebase ecosystem fit make it appealing for driveway or porch coverage. Pricing is lower in store than online, with warehouse tags around $99 to $100 versus about $110 online. The main limitation is that it records motion events only, not continuous video, and the included solar panel has drawn durability complaints. It is a solid fit if event based recording is enough.

Tapo model C460, C460 KIT, C660, and TC92 KIT are all battery-powered cameras with the option of connecting a solar panel, and they all support 24/7 capture capabilities.<br />

Yeah OK but it's a work-around. I know of the C460 specifically, at best, it records 1FPS 24/7 until motion triggers it to 15 FPS. When motion stops, it goes back to (up to) 1FPS again.

If you have lots of activity, cloudy skies or both, you might have to slow to 1 frame every 15/30/60 seconds to conserve power. That's almost as good as not having and pre/post-roll.

Any suggestions on a reolink model
I haven't done any real research, but a dual camera like this might be nice (for my situation).
https://www.amazon.com/REOLINK-So...0F189FV7K/

The ability to pan and see 270-deg around the outside of my house, is great. And it tracks cars & humans sometimes, moving in front of my house. But it can only record motion events in one section (where it is pointed) at a time.

But the ReoLink Duo has TWO cameras, and can see/record the entire street in front of my house, all the time.

I have some non-PTZ eufy cameras. They're 2.4GHz-only, decent image quality in sufficient light, low frame rate and they do not record any video before being triggered (so you might miss what you need to see). This one has the same deficiencies. But they're pretty obvious and might have deterrent value to the casual criminal.

I wonder if they'll have another $50 blink security system bundle again. Good value other than electrician cost for installing flood light

key industry trends
In terms of revenue, China accounted for 46.6% of the global surveillance camera market in 2024.
Country-wise, China is expected to lead the global market in terms of revenue in 2030.

https://jer-tech.com/top-10-secur...0paramount.

You are buying a brand of security camera that has no market share in their own country.

Reasons for Eufy's minimal share in China

Intense competition: Eufy faces strong competition from established local companies with large market shares.
Privacy features: Eufy's emphasis on features like local storage and end-to-end encryption, which appeal to Western customers, are less of a competitive advantage in a country with extensive state surveillance.
Different market focus: Anker Innovations prioritizes its international growth for Eufy, while in China it focuses on other product lines and brands.
