Looking for a small and cheap tablet for a while. Almost got this one today, the price is right.
But decided to get the Samsung A9 w/8gb, since there's no real improvement on the upcoming A11.
how can this get a thumb up? This CPU is too slow for a person to have a decent android experience.
I would only recommend this to computer geeks that know how to close most apps in the background.
Lastly...
The CHEAPEST tablet a person should buy today is the Lincplus T3 sold at Amazon for $90.00. At least this tablet will give you a decent experience. https://www.amazon.com/LincPlus-1...r=8-3&th=1
The G99 CPU is OVER 70% FASTER... so if the G85 can do a 100 in speed then the G99 can do 175 in speed.
Getting something almost twice as fast for LESS MONEY... says it all.
Anyone know about this model? Suitable to give to a parent for light web browsing and WhatsApp calls?
See above, stop buying these crap tablets and the manufacturers will stop making them. My FIL gave me his iPad because it was slow. Older folks, kids and others still want speed. Don't buy parents something you wouldn't use yourself.

Thanks. I won't buy it because your advice. When can I expect that will result in Lenovo ceasing production? Thanks
You're really paying a lot for the brand here - I picked up an ALLDOCUBE IPlay60 Mini Turbo for just a bit more several months back, and it has the same screen size, double the RAM, double the internal storage, bigger battery, and runs a more respectable Snapdragon 6 Gen1. Solid build quality, all around nice basic tab. The only advantage you have here is a better camera, and, admittedly, a headphone jack.
I haven't found the exact version for the exact price I paid (although admittedly, I only did a short Google price search), but did see the version with 16GB RAM for only $30 more.
I bought one of these a while back for my mom, so she would have something bigger than her phone to use at home, that was still small/light enough for her to want to use, and, while she is happy with it, she also only really uses it for basic browsing and the occasional YouTube video.

Don't do it.
Not worth it.
Not even for kids.
No excuses.
