Edit: Everything below is still accurate, but the same laptop with a 1TB SSD is on Lenovo right now for $45~ less. Link below. Downside is worse return policy compared to "through end of January in any walmart" and a much more expensive accidental damage/extended warranty if that is something you want. But if you are sure you want this laptop (and it's a great one) and don't want the increased warranty coverage, grab the

So obviously we just had this exact laptop for sale from Walmart Direct for $950, and if you have a time machine great, if you don't though I think at $1050 this is still basically the gaming laptop deal to beat at the 5060 level of the market. Incredible screen, good performance, great build quality, lightweigh (for a gaming laptop 4.3~lbs). And unlike the I7 for $1200 that has been promoted a good bit, this gets 6-7 hours of battery on web browsing, the I7 gets under 2. I know because I bought the I7 when it first came out. Loved everything, but the battery life was basically unusuable.
Other things to note, yes there is a second open SSD slot, and yes a second open DRAM slot, so you can add a 16 GB stick to go to 32 (and improve performance some) or replace both and go way way higher.
Sold by Antonline on Walmart FULFILLED BY WALMART which means it has the Walmart returns through end of January and returns to any store, so you can buy this and slow roll for a better deal.
Also the 3 year allstate warranty with drop and accident protection is $88, $98 for 4 years. Specs ripped from the $949 post.

This Legion 5 stands out as a strong gaming laptop for its 15.1 inch OLED WQXGA 165 hertz display, Ryzen 7 260, and RTX 5060 combo, with the screen drawing especially high praise for brightness, color, and overall eye candy. The build feels solid, and the AMD model is described as getting around 6 hours of battery life, while Walmart fulfillment and free returns through January 31 reduce the risk of buying now. The main knocks are the price jumping from $949 a few days earlier, the 16 gigabytes of RAM not being upgradeable, and the need to avoid an NVMe heatsink inside the system. A good fit if the display and return window matter most.
Walmart fulfillment and free returns through January 31 reduce the downside of buying now.
The OLED display delivers bright output with strong color rendering and a smooth 165Hz experience.
The AMD Ryzen 7 260 configuration reportedly reaches around six hours of battery life.
The laptop can feel like a higher-end machine after adding RAM and a larger SSD for gaming.
The price was reportedly $949 just days earlier, making the current $1050+ cost less compelling.
The i7 14700 version reportedly has very poor battery life, which can make it hard to use unplugged.
An NVMe with a heatsink reportedly cannot be installed inside the system.
The 16GB RAM configuration is non-upgradeable, which can limit creator workloads over time.

Yeah I keep posting trying to warn people about the I7 14700 of this laptop. Honestly this is one of the best laptops I've ever seen in any generation at this price point, but that I7 basically turns it into a desktop. 2 hours of battery life new means in 18 months you likely have a brick that can barely be unplugged to move rooms without dying
Did you already return the 14700? If not, what you might try is a return and ask them to give you the refund in gift cards instore instead of refunding to the card, then you would have the funds immediately to order this one. No idea if they will do that with such a large purchase, I've certainly had Walmart be okay with it on smaller ones though. Probably depends on the CS person in store.
This laptop will definitely run it at a nice level, but given that the specs need a desktop 4080 to max out in 4k/1440 and that card along is close to the price of this laptop it won't get there.
I would return the SSD and get one without the heatsink, or google how to remove the heat sink since usually (not always) that is reasonably easy to do. A decade ago when I was younger I probably would have said "meh keep it as is" but honestly so much of the long term durability in laptops is in how well the bottom cover is installed into the system that I wouldn't risk it. Like I used to randomly lose screws when working on laptops, shrug and move on I mean... what's one missing screw out of 14 or whatever? Overtime I noticed those places seemed to eventually become failure points. Woops.

No problem, the AMD 260 from this one gets more like 6 hours of battery life btw.
