It should do the job. Caveat: I haven't ever used this "restoration" version, but Kilz in general will do the job.
I assume with your mention of high gloss you are concerned with adhesion. No need to worry about that. This should coat and seal quite nicely.

Check to see if the gloss is due to a lacquer type finish. If it is, then you can add mineral spirits to water based killz and it will adhere to oil based paints.

try another store. lowe's is discontinuing the kilz line. or maybe wait a couple days. i bought during a deal a couple weeks ago & prices dropped another $7/can. sadly, cannot they will not do a price adjustment

All the Home Depot ads are saying that Kilz is exclusively at HD now. I'm guessing that's why Lowes is pushing them out. I also show the 5 gallon Kilz 2 for $99 if you're not able to find this deal and you need more than one gallon.
