Where are you seeing the UX Pearl for $400? It's $600 on their website.
I have half a mind to get this one. My understanding is they've just moved the controls from being on the side of the seat to a controller that you can place wherever is convenient.

The "luxury remote" that comes with this version is indeed nice, with hard plastic buttons. Much better than the old style remote or the on-bidet controls which used membrane covered buttons and had a tendency to wear over time. Despite it not being tankless, I don't think we've ever had someone run out of warm water with our family of 5. After 10 years, the flap that covers the wand occasionally got stuck on the wand when retracting, binding the mechanism. I whittled down the plastic on the wand that had gotten jagged, it looks to have solved the problem. The S7 appears to have an internal cam than opens the flap rather than pushing it open with the wand instead. Hopefully this model has that too.
The S7+ was much more expensive for auto open and close and auto flush. The spray pressure is also increased. I certainly appreciate it, but not really sure I'd say it's worth it for the upgrade for most people.
Both Toto's were easy to install, had great instructions and came with all the parts and fittings. The Alpha models have me curious, but overall I've been happy with Toto and would still consider them first.
