Makita is a great brand and this will likely last a lifetime for home use. That said, 440 inch pounds of torque is on the low side. This would be more in line with the better 12v drills. That said x2, that is probably plenty for most DIY use. Final word: if this is your first battery tool and only do light DIY this is great but you might be better served by a lower end brand like Ryobi. This is a low end drill from a high end brand, quality will be great but you can find similar capability easily in a brand with lower everyday prices for other tools.

I already got Milwaukee, ryobi, dewalt and Hercules drills. May as well getting into the Makita system. Seems like they have a bunch of random battery operated tools like Ryobi

Out of stock, but sale lasts another 6 days. Would they honor this price at a store if I found a store that has it in stock? I'm not familiar with HD policy.
