These are ONVIF compatible and super easy to add to a Unifi protect system if you have one

Does this need to be mounted by a plug?

Yes, you need to connect it to a power outlet.

I worry about this too, I am super cheap, so I buy the inexpensive cameras like these made in China. I keep them on a separate network with no internet, then put my camera server on both networks (Blue Iris).

Do you get the motion-tracking and PTZ features over ONVIF when used with Unifi Protect?

what exactly do you worry about? That China might randomly pick your camera data and see you walking around in your skivvies or see the driveway out front?

Personally I would go for the 2k version for $5 more (or 2 pack for $55) model is TP-216, you can search on amazon. I'd post a deal but haven't had good experiences with posting deals here lately.

Right, what harm could organized crime possibly do if they have a computer on your LAN?
Best case it scans your LAN, adds all of the other unpatched IoT stuff and any PCs/Macs with zero day exploits to a bot-net that will be used for nefarious purposes. Best case because you'll just be wondering why your internet is so slow while Amazon is scrambling to get AWS back online. Eventually your ISP cuts you off until you pay for someone to clean up your LAN.

If you have this level of paranoia then don't shop for smart devices on a deals website, don't get any electronics from Amazon at all, and don't have ANY smart devices on your network... that is just a small start.
