Zipair is great, I don't mind paying for what I just need and paying for extras that I don't really care about. I would definitely fly with them again.

On the wifi, I think they lock down access to everything except their online ordering page. I couldn't get the wifi working for anything else except for ordering items off their menu. I wasn't able to stream any movies or browse any websites with it.

Does anyone know what a good price is for full lay flat seats on zip air is these days?

I flew a few years back and it was definitely worth it back then, but wondering what a good price would be now

Went twice. I went in late Nov years ago. Celebrated thanksgiving there. Snowy and cold but it didn't stick. Went last year in early Oct. I thought it was gonna be fall like temps. NOPE! Felt like summer didn't end, mostly rain but It was still nice. I heard best time is cherry blossom festival but it can be pricy! Avoid summer because its hot. Nov was great though. I love the cold. Something to keep in mind. Some of the old castles you go will require you to take off your shoes. They don't have modern heating systems so expect cold floors. My toes were freezing.

Japan will definitely have you set-up if you just plan on wearing the new stuff you purchase. They got the right clothes for their seasons in stores. So you don't have much to worry about. Like dressing comfortably. Don't bring so much clothes because you will be shopping and eating!!! I didn't plan on shopping for myself but man they got great comfortable clothes. That's if you plan to wear the new stuff. I didn't because of the whole tax-free purchase. I just wore what I brought and wore all the new stuff this year. I hear the whole tax-free will change starting next year though.
Bring comfy shoes because you will be exploring a lot Something waterproof incase of rain. Light windbreaker will come in handy for those rainy days that gets humid and light to carry if it gets sunny again. That's If you plan on going end of summer beginning of fall. For the time I went in Nov I had a superdry jacket and hoody and ate lots of delicious ramen so that help me keep warm when it snowed up north towards the countryside. I only brought a light bomber jacket and north face windbreaker in oct. Only one day I use the bomber because it was windy but the rest of my 2 weeks there. I could've been in shorts and T-shirt.
You will be shopping I promise you that!

Great deal. Just because you have to pay for all the add ons , you don't have to pay for the wonderful customer service. So much difference compare to the US low cost carriers like Spirit or Frontier. You can't buy customer service with them if you want to. Plenty of legroom for me and I am 5'9". Definitely will look into my schedule and try to fit another trip to Japan.

Per their website, $85 per checked bag, 30kg limit per bag.
https://www.zipair.net/en/service/baggage

Fees apply starting from the first piece of checked baggage.
Baggage in excess of 30 kg per piece or dimensions over 203 cm (sum of length, width, and height) cannot be checked in, except for certain types of sports equipment.
The maximum weight of check-in baggage is 30 kg per piece. Any baggage that exceeds the weight limit will not be accepted as checked baggage.
Each passenger may check in a maximum of 5 pieces of baggage, but will be charged for each piece.

edit: for a rough size estimate, my medium sized 28" checked bag equates to about 165cm if you include the wheel height, ~160cm if you don't.

Don't check bag for leaving. Buy a luggage in Japan and load the goods. Check bag when return.

What we did was put our clothes in the medium suitcases, then put the suitcases inside a larger one and checked those in. Use the large suitcases for stuff bought from Japan. Mostly make up and skin care that the wife bought. I had like 20 bags of snacks and candies.

Cherry Blossom season is the prettiest, there's a website that tracks it, but usually last week of march and first week of April is peak bloom. It rained all 4 days we were in Tokyo but still pretty. Osaka and Kyoto had much nicer weather.

Summer is best, the cicadas and everything having AC will make it memorable!
