this is literally the base price at costco. Not a deal.

I've been wanting one of these and they all seem like generic Chinese junk. Should I just assume Costco carries a good one

Everytime I see these at Costco I can't help but think that they're specifically marketed to naive homeowners or people who cant tell a hammer from a screwdriver...Absolutely no attention to ergonomics at all - definitely not meant for even a moderate amount of use.

Not really a good middle ground. Compare M12 fuel installation driver with 0 - 400 / 0 - 1,600 RPM, and 1/2/3 Nm clutch and 30Nm drill

I have the regular version of this and not a fan of it. Wouldn't recommend.

I got this from Costco in store at $50 and it's fine. I was strongly leaning toward returning it, but it is very light and my 5 year old daughter used it to help me put together Ikea kids steps and so will keep it. It does not compare to professional brand tools, but it is a handy thing to have around for simple tasks. It is quite wide, so I don't really see ever using it in the straight 180-degree orientation.

I've tried all sorts of these "electric screwdrivers", and they invariably suck. Just not enough torque to even remove a simple electronic screw (I use them mainly for assembling 3d-printed parts with M3 and M4 screws).

I ended up getting the Dewalt Flexdrive screwdriver, and it's perfect. Have been using it as my general-purpose hobbyist screwdriver, but is also able to drill into drywall, and handles lesser projects with ease. J

Made in China absolutely doesn't mean it is junkThat in mind, check YouTube for reviews on these. Amazon's brand is pretty darn good

I have had the opposite experience. I've had nice drills and impact drivers and resisted getting an e screwdriver for years. I just broke down and got the 20 dollar amazon one and it's Amazing. It can drive screws into raw wood. It locks when it turns off so it just becomes a great regular screwdriver. I've put off getting one forever because I thought it wasn't a real tool, but now I use it for everything. It makes me wonder why the big brands don't make these. They'd be amazing. I checked and Klein doesn't make one, which is my screwdriver brand of choice. That Dewalt you linked looks nice but Jesus 90 bucks. Just looked up the Milwaukee option and it's silly. m4 for 1!8!0! Dollars. Ryobis got a 25 dollar one that might be a good ticket. Eh. I don't see great reviews for these like premiumish knock off things like hoto and fantik or whatever else. Seems like they might be nice...idk

M12 Fuel kit is on sale now for $99.
It's more expensive, but it's the real thing, not a toy.

I have one and love it. I'm an engineer at a small company and one of my roles is to assemble components. We can't afford the high end torque drivers and this works out perfectly for our use case scenario. It's ideal for properly fastening #4-40, #6-32, #8-32, #10-24 and #1/4-20 socket head and button head screws.
