This is a stupid price for 1tb even if it's a price-gouged Samsung, 'ain't nobody in their right mind paying $100/tb for a chinesium drive whose performance is useful for virtually nobody. Buy decent gen4 drive with double the capacity for roughly the same price and call it a day.

This is a gen5 drive that runs at 14k mb/s, literally double the gen4s. The storage is always the slowest part of a pc so the speed is difference is noticeable.
This particular nvme drive is one of the newer ones using the silicon motion controller that doesn't run as hot as the phison or presto controllers.
Reviews show that its about the middle of the pack in performance but its main advantage is that it doesn't have heat issues like the samsung. The ssd will get throttled if it starts to overheat.
Could go for the crucial 710 and buy american, its on sale for $109.

You don't know seem to know what you are talking about. Take a break, cool off, then get back on the internet.

last i checked there's almost nothing on pc that can effectively take advantage of those speeds yet outside of raw file transfers. more games and software needs to use things like directstorage to be able to properly stream in data that fast. the program itself becomes a bottleneck. much like playing old games on a sata ssd, many of them load as slow as they do on a fast 10k rpm hdd.

Not sure if you're being serious or trolling. I hope trolling because thats the silliest thing I've ever heard.

It has pretty awful QD1 random write and QD1 sequential read per PCPartPicker testing. Gonna pass.

There is something called inferencing. Everyone and their mother seem to be using it.

Even the direct storage implementations that are available now don't make much use of gen 4 speeds. We're dealing with noobs here, acting pretty haughty.

Oof, dude, please reflect on this and ask yourself how many people who are shopping for SSDs (let alone the sample size of 'everyone and their mother') are that deep into local AI tasks like that.
