I have a set of bamboo sheets (not these) and they truly are soft and silky. I think bamboo sheets are somewhat polarizing - people like them or really don't like them...

does $45/52 (full/queen) full retail seem accurate or do they normally go for less?

If it is 100% Viscose, I would not recommend it. I don't have this exact set, but I have another 100% viscose set from Amazon. It pilled heavily only after a few washes.

100% viscose and that seems like a common issue according to the reviews

Viscose is like rayon and needs special care. High heat (e.g. dryer) will cause material to break down rapidly, causing pilling, weakened areas and tears. We went through a few sets before we figured it out and reduced to low-temp settings.

Yes, I use low heat when drying my bamboo sheets. I haven't noticed any pilling.
