I've had these for several years now, and they're fantastic. In all honesty, I wasn't much of a Klipsch fan, but the RP-600M II is impressive--smooth and lively, but absolutely not harsh. Easy to listen to for long periods. Check the reviews from Stereophile and other reputable sources. Pair these with a good subwoofer and you'll have a really nice system. I'm not sure how you could do better for less than $1000.
