For their purpose its probably best to have a transparent container so you can see larger potential contaminants if filling from an untrusted water source.
If you're buying to filter from a tap or running water source then I guess visibility doesn't really matterโฆbut its not likely you'll have a chilled source (unless its already cold outside then it defeats the purpose since you probably won't want cold water)
