But why would you want AI features on this. Having it will be cool; But all I need is the time, alarm, weather, music, occasional videos and rotating pictures.
For everything else, I'm pulling out my phone or laptop.

When I checked out it said free one-day shipping... but it also said expected delivery October 29-31.
I have 2 already and use them frequently.

Despite the negligence, I have one of these, and it's still good for what it does. If you use Google Photos, it's so easy to assign 1-2 albums where anything you add ends up in your countertop rotation. Clock, weather, need, search, limited streaming, all fine and not sluggish considering the age. Echoes are more intrusive with ads and suggestions, in my limited experience. Google has done their estimates, and for now it's worth providing the new services on old devices when the heavy lifting is done by their servers anyway, allowing people to upgrade and expand gradually.
OMG, why did I write all this (and on my phone). Thanks, kite person and caribou.

I can't say I concur with ya there Chief. Ever since AI went all in I've had nothing but issues with responses to queries. I've heard "I don't understand" more in the past several months than I have the entire many years I've been using a smart display with Google Assistant. Granted, I have Lenovo devices, but I sincerely doubt that makes any difference at all. After all, the display and speakers are just tools for interacting with the not-so-smart assistant. Since AI went full speed on Google Assistant I've been extremely dissatisfied with the whole experience. Considering moving to Siri/HomeKit and ditching Google.

Now, she gets to see photos of events before they can be posted to social media. She's quick to call when she sees something new pop up and she gets the inside scoop. Then, she can fill in her siblings on all the details after photos get posted to social media for everybody to see. She doesn't get out as much, but this makes her feel a little closer to the action without the physical toll.
