How about using it for work? Would there be any issues for font clarity?

Not the best monitor for font clarity. If thats a big concern of yours then you'll want to look elsewhere. Or more likely, at 4k monitors.

Was looking at this to upgrade from my 32" Monoprice dark matter monitor I got a few years ago. Was also looking at the more expensive version that is 5k2k res. But seeing as I have a 5700x CPU, and 9070XT GPU I doubt I'd be playing things at 5k res with very high settings. So I think I'm going with the lower res model.

Here comes the ppi police. It's a big ass monitor. Most people aren't going to be counting pixels when they're immersed in their games.Yea the 5k2k variant is going to look better. It's great for screen shots to post online. But the trade off isn't worth it for people who enjoy higher frames in their games.
Amen brother. I have 2 of these the 2024 and the newer 90sa versions wrapped as a dual monitor setup. The panels are exact ly the same. On a monitor mount the stands being different dont matter.. As a gaming display they are really just that good. 5k 2k at 100 plus hz vs pushing 200hz on dual 1440 versions I'd take the 1440p versions all day long. And now one if these has a remote and a built in web is tv I can binge watch my favorite content on. Win win.

For font clarity I lean heavily on the Samsung G9 oled. It's still a 1440p monitor but the ppi is higher than the LG45 is. The glossy screen helps too. That being said the 45lg at gaming is a better experience but it really depends on how the game has been optimized and the hud layout is.Some games look great at 5120 and others at 3440. Since this was such a great deal to me I decided to buy a pair of these 45 LG ones I just hope the split in the middle isnt too off putting. Only other option would be to use the older 45qbe model in the middle and flank it on either side with the 2 newer 90sa ones. Its the same panel so it would work but 1 will it look good and 2 will it tank my fps to defeat the purpose of using them. I know my gpu can do 200hz on 2 but 3? Thats going to be more demanding. My choices are either 4080super on the Nvidia side or 7900xtx and 9070xt for the AMD cards. Guess I will experiment and see what works best. Trying to see if it would be best also to get 3 identical arm mounts or come up with another idea. Feel like a reddit post discussion is in order. This is a great monitor for gaming though. I am not a pixel peeper so I think this is fine for day to day general use. There are ways to adjust the settings so text is clearer and to me it isnt horrible.
