Interesting. Early Black Friday? Maybe Sony realized people don't buy PS5's when the price is insane?

Hi! I'm 2025. Have we met yet? Let me catch you up. These things called tariffs were put in place by someone high up in the US government. Due to this, companies increased prices on goods, including the PS5. Comparing to prices from a year ago is silly.

The PS5 Slim disc bundle stands out for getting the 1TB disc model and free shipping, with the disc version adding more storage and a drive that would cost about $80 separately. The console is described as running smoothly, and the extra controller add on is framed as useful backup value, especially for longer sessions or local multiplayer. The main drawback is price, since the deal is compared unfavorably with past Black Friday PS5 bundles and cheaper used or open box options. The promo code also stopped working, so the offer appears to have expired.

Common Questions (5)

  • Waiting was suggested because Black Friday was expected to bring $50-$100 off, and some pointed to bundles with an extra controller or a new game as better value. The earlier low-price comparisons were also described as short-lived doorbusters or clearance pricing, not a stable benchmark.

    BrunchTheBandicootroom112BrandoMan13Slimeyface

  • It was widely judged poor value versus prior PS5 promotions, with past Black Friday bundles like Spider-Man 2 or COD cited at $349.99 and some saying the disc console is only worth buying now if you plan to play immediately. A few comments still call it acceptable if you want the console now, but better prices were expected later.

    Spaceman6969AndyChlonSpaceman6969Spaceman6969

  • No. The code was reported as invalid, dead, or no longer working, and the deal was also said to be dead by noon PST. If the checkout code fails, the promotion is no longer active.

    Dies-AlderWittyFruit499JollyName737yagru

  • The digital PS5 Slim has 825GB, while the disc version has 1TB and includes the disc drive. The disc model's extra storage and drive are part of why some see it as the better value for only about $50 more.

    jonhernBrunchTheBandicoot

  • The disc version is described as not upgradable for storage beyond its built-in 1TB, even though it has an NVMe slot that can take up to 8TB. The disc drive itself is included on the disc model, and the retail price of the drive alone was cited at about $80.

This is absolutely amazing deal if you don't have to pay by Klarna.

No way. $200 is reasonable at this point. For reference PS4 slim with spider man Black Friday deal was $200, just 5 years after first debute. The PS5 is 5 years old now lol
That was many years ago, even before covid. I also remember I paid $200 for a Ps4 + Uncharted 4 bundle but this is a thing of past. I miss those days.

Now Sony's only remaining competitor is PC (Steam), and Steam is selling games for less because they don't subsidize hardware. Sony now wants to make money out of hardware, so that they can match (at least try to match) prices on Steam. In short, consoles won't be subsidized anymore. PS5 is already cheaper than PCs with similar performance.

This is as good as it's gonna get this year. <br />

I rather take the instant discount now than wait for some holiday game bundle for 50 bucks off
Yep especially with all the price increases from tariffs.

Was kinda hoping to see a deal on the PS5 pro. Im guessing probably not going to happen anytime soon though
Here's how to get a deal on the Pro. Go on FB market place and buy one used. The console is so recent that it doesn't matter if someone used it all day. I got a Pro, WITH the disc add-on, lightly used for $600 2 weeks ago

I downvoted this deal, justifiably so. Not a good deal. For reference, past Black Friday deal with Spiderman 2 game or COD was $349.99 at Target.

Kinda is a good deal though, with Sony and other console manufacturers continuing to increase prices.

why does the digital version have less HD space than the disc version? You would think it would be the other way around.

Bingo. I bought a series x at launch for $500. It's now $650. So we can say it's worth $300 or should be $300 at this point but it's not.

Same for the ps5. Maybe there will be a better black Friday bundle offer but this is as good a deal as you can get now.

If you keep talking about how much something should be thinking that'll get you one at that price then you'll be sitting in the corner rocking yourself back and forth ranting about how cheap things used to be. And you won't have the ps5 etc.
