The PS5 Slim disc bundle stands out for getting the 1TB disc model and free shipping, with the disc version adding more storage and a drive that would cost about $80 separately. The console is described as running smoothly, and the extra controller add on is framed as useful backup value, especially for longer sessions or local multiplayer. The main drawback is price, since the deal is compared unfavorably with past Black Friday PS5 bundles and cheaper used or open box options. The promo code also stopped working, so the offer appears to have expired.

Common Questions (5)

  • Waiting was suggested because Black Friday was expected to bring $50-$100 off, and some pointed to bundles with an extra controller or a new game as better value. The earlier low-price comparisons were also described as short-lived doorbusters or clearance pricing, not a stable benchmark.

  • It was widely judged poor value versus prior PS5 promotions, with past Black Friday bundles like Spider-Man 2 or COD cited at $349.99 and some saying the disc console is only worth buying now if you plan to play immediately. A few comments still call it acceptable if you want the console now, but better prices were expected later.

  • No. The code was reported as invalid, dead, or no longer working, and the deal was also said to be dead by noon PST. If the checkout code fails, the promotion is no longer active.

  • The digital PS5 Slim has 825GB, while the disc version has 1TB and includes the disc drive. The disc model's extra storage and drive are part of why some see it as the better value for only about $50 more.

  • The disc version is described as not upgradable for storage beyond its built-in 1TB, even though it has an NVMe slot that can take up to 8TB. The disc drive itself is included on the disc model, and the retail price of the drive alone was cited at about $80.

I haven't played video games since the 2000s. I had a SNES and PS1. I did play some PS2 thought and thought the graphics back then good back then.

Do people buy a PS5 to play something like madden and marvel vs capcom only? Those were pretty much the games I wasn't interested in back then with PS2. With PS1, I recall syphon filter was good. SNES you had mortal kombat and super mario and mariokart.

If you planning to play by yourself, is it worth buying a PS5 for this? I know you can play online against other players so that is what most people do anyway right? Seems weird if you were to play madden with someone next to you, well they know what plays you going to play since it's the same screen. The last time I played any type of video games was on PS2 and on my old pentium windows laptop when it was windows 2000 or so and before XP and played like the roms of mortal kombat and madden. With the computer, this was like 2004 and before though. The thing is I heard of call of duty and fortnite but none of that would interest me as I have seen how it looked. None of those games interest me. Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil were games that were interesting though. But mainly madden and like marvel vs capcom. Or you can just play those games online on the computer?

Crazy how expensive the prices have become on these consoles. Glad I grabbed a PS5 PRO from the Dell deal back in the summer

Black Friday deals should have some sort of game bundle or code bundle thing going on, like they usually do.
49.99 for disc drive? Hoping....

Yep. That's what I might do unless a bundle with Spider-Man 2 happens to come out but seems unlikely.

You get a 2nd controller for $55 more than this and their msrp is $75.

Hi! I'm 2025. Have we met yet? Let me catch you up. These things called tariffs were put in place by someone high up in the US government. Due to this, companies increased prices on goods, including the PS5. Comparing to prices from a year ago is silly. <br />
Enjoy your stay!
err... no. Sony moved/ spread manufacturing from their lessons learned under the chip shortage.. Europe already seen their higher PS5 costs Q1 of this year. Price hikes were always going to come to the US regardless who was running it.

Lol. They already stated they aren't getting out of the hardware business
This is the only Xbox system I didn't buy and they should get out the gaming business.
