Interesting. Early Black Friday? Maybe Sony realized people don't buy PS5's when the price is insane?

Hi! I'm 2025. Have we met yet? Let me catch you up. These things called tariffs were put in place by someone high up in the US government. Due to this, companies increased prices on goods, including the PS5. Comparing to prices from a year ago is silly.
Enjoy your stay!

The PS5 Slim disc bundle stands out for getting the 1TB disc model and free shipping, with the disc version adding more storage and a drive that would cost about $80 separately. The console is described as running smoothly, and the extra controller add on is framed as useful backup value, especially for longer sessions or local multiplayer. The main drawback is price, since the deal is compared unfavorably with past Black Friday PS5 bundles and cheaper used or open box options. The promo code also stopped working, so the offer appears to have expired.

  • The PS5 Slim Disc 1TB model reportedly runs smoothly for about 1.5 years without needing an upgrade to PS6.

    NikonShr

  • The disc version can add a disc drive and 1TB storage for about $50 more than the 825GB digital model.

    BrunchTheBandicoot

  • An extra DualSense controller bundle can be a practical add-on when waiting for better Black Friday options.

    room112

  • The controller backup idea can make sense when typical battery life is around five hours and charging takes a couple hours.

    room112

  • The promo code reportedly fails to work, with multiple reports that the code is invalid or dead and the deal may be over.

    moarKowbellWittyFruit499JollyName737yagru

  • The deal is criticized as not good value because past Black Friday PS5 bundles reportedly hit $349.99 at Target with games like Spider-Man 2 or COD.

    Spaceman6969Spaceman6969

  • The digital model reportedly has only 825GB storage, which can feel counterintuitive versus the disc version's larger storage.

    jonhernBrunchTheBandicoot

  • The disc console deal is described as only worth buying immediately, with a suggestion to wait for the disc price to drop below $300.

Bingo. I bought a series x at launch for $500. It's now $650. So we can say it's worth $300 or should be $300 at this point but it's not.<br />
<br />
Same for the ps5. Maybe there will be a better black Friday bundle offer but this is as good a deal as you can get now.<br />
<br />
If you keep talking about how much something should be thinking that'll get you one at that price then you'll be sitting in the corner rocking yourself back and forth ranting about how cheap things used to be. And you won't have the ps5 etc.
'
Series X is actually on clearance at some stores like BJ for around $350 since it seems Microsoft will stop making them. Or they are getting out of the hardware business.

I can see the consoles being maybe $50-$100 off around BF depending on the retailer. If there is a discounted bundle I'm thinking call of duty black ops 7 or an extra controller (Costco). Could you save money by waiting if it comes with a free newly released game or controller at a discounted price? Maybe. Still this isn't bad if you don't want to wait.

Also the new digital model only includes 825gb and has a matte finish in the middle (maybe for cheaper costs on Sony's end and anti-scratching). It's almost like they took the SSDs from the older models and put it onto this "updated" digital model. But for $50 more, you get a disc drive (retail is $80) and more storage (1TB) which isn't upgradable although they have a nvme slot for up to 8TB.

You probably have to pay by Klarna (financing) to get the discount is my guess. I was wondering if this was the case based on the code having klarna in it.
Yeah that very much seems to be the case

Ps5 1tb slim disc running smooth for last 1.5 yrs...no need to upgrade to ps6...Great deal!
How do you know when PS6 is not out yet? With the meager exclusive PS5 launch titles, better argument is for ps4 owners to wait for PS6

arent they just rehashing games or making old ps4 games with slight performance boosts? how many actual Ps5 only exclusives have come out?

I would get the disc version to double as a bluray player but i hear it doesnt even support dolby vision

What goes up, must come down.. I'm optimistic we'll see $300 by Black Friday, at least briefly. Here in the US, most people don't have disposable income and sales are slow, esp after the price increases.

Yes, both the XSX and PS5 are pretty bad movie disc players even without DV. Pretty bad streaming support for Plex as well. Both a Roku Ultra and Apple TV are much better for streaming.

If one is considering the disc version of this, for $55 more you can get it w/ an extra controller from Costco during BF, plus it buys time to see if there are better BF deals. Something to consider.

Sony Playstation 5 Slim Disc Console
2 DualSense Controllers
$480 @ Costco
Starts Nov. 28 - Black Friday

$55 for the extra controller isn't bad. What's the usual life for one of these controllers? It's just me playing so don't need a 2nd but to have as a backup isn't the worst thing.
