I'm planning my solar system. Would these be good to connect to a EG4 Flexboss?

If they increase warranty to 5 years I'd bite. 3 years for a 300lb battery isn't worth the risk for me at this price

Yes, they should work well. I have 6 of their server rack batteries hooked up to a Flexboss21 and they communicate well so far when both are set to the Luxpower protocol.

So you're not surprised, as I was, I would recommend going to diysolarforum.com and reading through some of the teething issues the Flexboss line has gone through before deciding to get it. Buggy firmware updates, very loud fans, and dumb heat management logic seem to be the main ones.

These are priced right, shipped quickly and built (Mike's Solar Garage on Youtube took one apart) and packed extremely well in crate. But damn it's 300+ lbs and not easy to stand it up or move around. So before you buy definitely know you need help and right equipment.
I used a boom crane (tractor mounted) to lift it out of crate (strap included), and used a motorized stair climbing dolly (with rubber tank treads) to get it from drive way to lawn to a Bilco basement door and about 10 steps of stairs.
Would probably buy these again for my next build but I hope their rack mount will be discounted to comparable $/wh level.

Man this is almost my exact position. I'd prefer server rack batteries, I already have 2 of theirs but these are a good bit better priced. But getting them downstairs would be a PITA. I have an egress window and a tractor to lower them but the last 3 or so feet down out of the window would be a hassle for sure. Have to make a ramp of some kind to slide them down maybe haha.

If you going to lower the battery down your window well you need a hydraulic lift table at window sill to receive/lower the battery.

Another way is to strap the battery on a decent quality dolly, then hook the dolly handle to something above and stationary with a hand winch (cable winch) then slowly release cable/strap to control dolly's descent.

it's not DIY or solo job unfortunately. But this definitely looks neater and more cost effective (and way less wires and fuses and ...) than using rack batteries.

What would i need to charge these during cheap electricity at night, then switch my house to battery power during the day?

The 18 is super quiet until you get over 10kw. Then it's like a computer fan level of noise. I wish the 21 was as quiet as the 18. I may get the smaller one just for that reason.

An inverter is required for use with these batteries. Eco-worthy is currently offering a 10kw inverter as part of a sale. To charge the battery, one may utilize solar panels or a generator.

Assuming I bought this, the 10kW converter, and panels. Would that be all I need to get started?

Pay a contractor to install the panels and permit and you're good?

I'm coming from the Tesla ecosystem and may need to move soon and cannot take that with me.

https://www.eco-worthy.com/pages/warranty It shows 10 years for these on thier website. look under "Special products" on that page for 48v 280ah wall mount battery.

Or also set inverter to grid-charge during certain hours (cheap TOU)

Has anyone had to navigate the remote disconnect requirement with their AHJ on these? If so, how did you address it/
Requirements for remote disconnects under NEC 706.15
  • One- and two-family dwellings:
    • A readily accessible initiation device must be located outside the building.
    • The device must have a clear on/off indicator.
    • The "off" position must initiate an emergency shutdown.

If this was $1600, that would be great. I am also looking at the yixiang battery where cells are not welded and price is really good too. I have not heard many talk about this eco worthy wheel battery v2
