I think you're getting this mixed up with older intel versions. Not M1 series chips. This is the cheapest I've ever seen this one

No theyre correct. Apple has/had a separate line making m1 airs for Walmart for quite some time. They're still great machines for many people.

One is restored "like new" for $400, this one is restored "fair". Both are a crsp shoot. How are returns handled with Walmart?

No, these new were originally $649 and now $599 never anywhere close to $400. And they are still available new. They are only available new from Walmart as far as I know

The posted deal is for Restored: Like Nee condition. The $339 one is listed as Restored: Fair. Which is pretty poor condition for a $60 delta. Fair means

Restored: Fair
Fair condition with visible signs of wear/use, including more significant scratches or marks. Must be professionally inspected, tested, cleaned and, if necessary, refurbished to the condition standard.Comes with a 90-day free return policy.

How it will look
• Item may have visible signs of wear/use, including more significant scratches or marks visible when holding the product 12 inches away, and perceptible to touch.
• If item has a screen, it will have no scratches on the screen.

New for $400?
For brand new I recall seeing the price go near $500 so this doesnt feel out of line. Especially with the m5 release.

Not once has this been $400 for new. Don't spread false information when you aren't sure or have any proof. The lowest this ever went was $599.

I got this for $427 and shipped and sold by Walmart just in the last month. It came in like brand new condition. Only 1 battery cycle and comes with 1 year warranty and I was the first one to activate it in Apple so can still do apple care. It comes with the box and all OEM accessories.
