Yes. You have to manually turn it on. It will not Auto-detect it, which is a bummer.

I have two of them and they have performed flawlessly. They do have Dolby Vision, but you have to manually select it when you watch a disc. It's a minor annoyance, but not really that big of a deal. They do play the DVD-AUDIO and SACD formats. That's why I have two of them. There aren't very many players in this price range capable of that. I've heard that Sony is discontinuing this particular model. So it might be a good time to buy.

If you have one of these or buy one and have a surround sound system, pick up a copy of dire straits album "brothers in arms" on sacd. Great demo disc.

People who invest in Lossless quality (and the other gear that support it) and want uncompressed content. Netflix is not streaming you 4k content equal to what's available on UHD Blu-rays. Though it might be totally good enough or acceptable for those without said hobbies.

When you turn DV on in the menu, it stays on until you turn it off for a non-DV disc.

Yes you are right. My last three Sony players frooze up at the same point playing brand new 4k movies. You could not give me this player.

yes because ps5 doesn't have Dolby Visions.And Dolby makes a huge difference plus if your ps 5 doesn't have a protection plan watching movie puts ware and tear I never use My system to watch because of this.

I HATE and regret everyday wasting my money on my Sony player. The worst player of any kind ive ever owned. Freezing in the middle of playing disks is inexcusable.

Nothing plays all of the different types of discs that this plays for anywhere close to its price. I have 3 so far and all 3 work as expected.
