Studio Ghibli is an amazing studio and Spirited Away is a beautiful cult classic. Its a great deal and it supports a studio that deserves praise, hard yes for me, thanks OP!
Me too and yet they are more plentiful at Walmart and still made in larger quantities than BDs or 4Ks. Sadly we'll never get rid of DVDs and fully switch to BDs or 4Ks which is sad because I can notice the edge aliasing on an upscaled DVD vs. a BD or 4K.
Given working BD players are under $10 and often under $5 at used thrift stores, there's really no excuse not to have a BD player and I figure anyone who still uses or buys DVDs over BDs deserves the low quality they get for unnecessarily supporting an inferior product which should be obsolete.
And all Ghibli movies are worth watching and most worth owning... but only on BD or better.

Are Blu-rays and UHD discs far superior to DVD in terms of AV quality? Yes, obviously. But there is nothing wrong with DVDs, and there's absolutely no need for them to go away or for people to be advocating for such. In fact, DVDs have their own set of benefits over BDs and UHDs, namely the fact they don't employ the asinine types of DRM BDs/UHDs do. Any functioning DVD player will play any undamaged DVD, no matter what, forever, without any need for an internet connection or firmware updates. Due to the DRM systems employed by Blu-ray/UHD the same cannot necessarily be said for them or their players. For this reason alone, I have far more faith that several decades from now my DVDs will still be watchable than I do my BDs/UHDs will. DVD will almost certainly go down as the most reliable home video format of all time. That's nothing to sneeze at. People shouldn't be wishing for the format to die.
