For those who asking why not OLED screen, it's because the Chinese OLED display panels are not yet as good as the South Korean Samsung or LG's. And, the Chinese manufacturers stopped buying South Korean display panels since several years ago. On the other hand, the Chinese LCD panels are already quite good. So they use it instead. Maybe in a few years, you'll see the Chinese OLED panels dominate the market. That's their ultimate goal.

Only 2 years of OS updates left. Ridiculous price for limited support. There are iPads with longer support that aren't even sold anymore. I hate iOS, but Android sucks in the tablet space. Amusingly ChromeOS has better OS support w/ Android apps. Sadly only Samsung has long-term support.

Just bought this and returning my Xiaomi Pad 7. Was eyeing this, but Xiaomi Pad 7 was cheaper (I bought it at $389). Absolute steal now that it's even cheaper than Xiaomi Pad 7 and has better hardware and software. Student discount just requires a student email. Thanks, OP 😘

Internet pairing feature with a One Plus phone does not work. Many have reported it stopped working after Android 15 upgrade. One Plus has done nothing to address this issue. Reaching out to support will only tell you to send the tablet in for repair.

Agree.. should be 4nyears minimum and don't understand why it's so hard to get OLED on tablets while cheap crummy laptops get OLED. Of all devices, tablets benefit the most from OLED! Is love to try something else besides Samsung, but almost 2026 and is the only old tablet (excluding iPad pro and Huawei models - both took too long also)

had the op3 and s11 on my desk last week gott'em both for around 550 each + pen for op2 i returned them both. that deal is gone tho.
the op3 was like a Chinese's toy compared to the s11
op3 Screen was awful for color and shift and brightness. speakers did about half of what the s11 could do. touch and pen support felt like a Walmart tablet so did the actual screen/glass itself. had a weird stutter in a lot of apps and scrolling, the connect your phone thing never worked right. big deal for me in that price point. cameras even front for video calls were 10yr old quality and lagged out the tablet. you have spend another 150 200 for case n pen. Software doesn't feel fleshed out. some of it feel like they dev ed for a phone and just pushed it to tablet.
But the battery and SD8 support in some apps was amazing. the s11 just did everything better
Samsung dropped the ball with mediateck so many apps i use including tiktok are missing core features and settings and some apps had a lower refresh rate hard lock default. but man that screen is mint and the over all spen is unmatched and software compatibility.
I dont know if the OP2 is anything like the 3 and at a 345 student discount maybe its worth it but I think the xiaomi pad 8 pro is next on my list unless some puts out a oled 10-11 inch with a SD 8+ etc

I found a good use for AI. Here's your comment made much more readable! If anyone else wants to do this for comments on SlickDeals, ask the LLM "Please rewrite and clean up this comment, presenting the result in BBCode syntax suitable for forum posting."

Had the OP3 and S11 on my desk last week — got them both for around $550 each (plus the pen for the OP2). I ended up returning both. That deal's gone now, though.

The OP3 felt like a cheap Chinese toy compared to the S11.
  • The screen was awful in color accuracy, brightness, and viewing angles.
  • The speakers were about half as good as the S11's.
  • Touch and pen support felt like a Walmart tablet — even the glass itself had that cheap feel.
  • It had random stutters in many apps and while scrolling.
  • The "Connect Your Phone" feature never worked right, which was a dealbreaker for me at this price point.
  • The cameras (even the front one for video calls) looked 10 years out of date and made the tablet lag badly.
  • You'd have to spend another $150–$200 for the case and pen.
  • The software didn't feel finished — a lot of it seemed like a phone UI just stretched for a tablet.

On the positive side, battery life and Snapdragon 8 performance in some apps were amazing. But overall, the S11 just did everything better.

That said, Samsung dropped the ball with the MediaTek version. Many of my apps (including TikTok) are missing key features and settings, and a few are locked to a lower refresh rate. Still, that screen is gorgeous, and the S Pen plus software compatibility are unmatched.

I don't know if the OP2 is anything like the OP3, but at the $345 student discount, maybe it's worth it. Otherwise, I think the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is next on my list—unless someone finally releases a 10–11 inch OLED with a Snapdragon 8+ or better.

If you use your Oneplus phone to order through the Oneplus app, usually you get additional discount. I still have my old Oneplus phone to launch the app, but I don't plan to make any purchase before Black Friday.
