Is this something as Once You Go Black, You Never Go Back?
Not really. This flavor is good but it doesn't justify costing nearly double vs the regular Shin.

Based on current sale, its $14.44 for 16 regular Shin (91 cents per pack) and $25.65 for shin black ($1.67 per pack). Shin Black is 76 cents more per per pack (84% more). To each their own, but under $2 for a bowl of better tasting noodles is solid!

I think the extra cost is due to the bone broth packet and it is a tad bit healthier (ingredients notwithstanding). You get a little extra protein with the bone broth. Like you said though, to each their own on this one. Still not a bad price.

Personally I'd just add a splash of beef bone broth, a bouillon cube, or a pinch of powder and pocket the difference…

Haven't tried the "Black" but doubt that it can top how we prepare the regular spicy noodle shin. As it is cooking, add in a half cup of heavy cream per packet and thin slices of grilled chicken. It is incredible. Perfect any time but especially during cold weather.

This tastes good but it has so much more sodium compared to other instant ramen. In4one

My wife and I both prefer the black over regular - worth it for us. I can't recall the price at Costco, but we recently found it there at somewhere under $2 each as well.

The black is better if you eat it all on it's own. I add eggs and veggies to the regular Shin red and it's a better deal overall for me.
