This compact 1 gallon Ryobi wet dry vac stands out for car cleaning, small projects, and quick household cleanup, with strong suction for its size and easy portability. It handles dust, drywall debris, small water pickups, fireplace ash, lint traps, and even spider duty, and the onboard storage for the crevice tool is handy. The main drawbacks are the short hose, fast battery drain, and filters that can be pricey or need the right HEPA version for ash. A practical little vac if compact size matters more than full shop vac reach.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. It has enough suction for cars, small project cleanup, drywall dust, lint traps, and light water pickup, while staying compact and portable. It is not a full-size shop vac, but it is strong for its size and intended use.
Yes, the hose is short and narrow, so car cleaning often means holding the vacuum in one hand and the hose in the other. That makes it less convenient for larger areas and can limit what debris it can pick up without an extension or extra attachment.
It can handle fireplace ash for some users, but the standard filter may let fine ash pass through and blow back into the room. The HEPA blue filter A32RF08 is the safer choice if ash cleanup is a regular use.
It can often be run with other 18V or 20V batteries using an adapter, including DeWalt 20V and Milwaukee M18 setups. That makes it a practical option if you already own batteries from another platform and do not want to buy into Ryobi batteries.
Yes, the small canister filters are washable, which helps offset the cost. If you need replacements later, generic packs are much cheaper than Ryobi-branded filters, which makes long-term ownership less expensive.

Not knocking it, I think it is a nice idea and would be useful if you have a couple of 5-gallon bucket to swap out and continue.
No, not hackable.
The crevice tool stores onboard securely into the unit.
I really do like it though and I'm not a big fan of the radial filters like this one has.
