This is a no-frills portable display. There isn't much to pro/con. These are more of a "if you don't know why you need it, you probably don't". I use these when traveling to client or remote sites and need a 2nd display for workflow management or separating shared vs not-shared content in meetings.

It's got basic display functionality but don't expect anything beyond a serviceable display.

Been hoping for a deal on something like this, but smaller. But they seem to not just not go on sale, but it's like there's hardly any smaller models at all. Does anyone have a rec for a smaller version of this?

What would the included Type-A to Type-C cable be used for? That cannot be for video input, right?

---

looks like it's used to power the monitor

No 3.5mm audio jack.

No 120hz
Also not a HEMI...and did you expect any of those things for $65?

And why would it need a audio jack? Shouldn't the host device have that? If not, you are in the same place as when you started Wink

"No 3.5mm audio jack. No 120hz"-Spaceman6969

Nope, right user. And yes, those were "facts" as they weren't false....but the "fact" is those features are not common nor would a reasonable person expect them on a $65 (especially name brand) portable monitor....like my example of a HEMI motor, would be just silly for you to mention the fact that was lacking, no matter how much hOmEwOrK you did to get to that revelation that the rest of the class knew innately.

Did all of those other people downvote the wrong user as well? LMAO2

Anyone have suggestions for a touchscreen version? And is it likely for it to be entirely USB-C powered?

I just stumbled on this, I know nothing about the brand but seems like a really good price on a touch screen. No idea how it is powered. Some review photos show one cable attached, others show too. I know I had an external touch screen once that required USB C for the video and another USB for the touch interface, not sure if they are all like that or just that (rather old) model.

Review for this specific monitor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTy3BvKMLy8

Interesting that it supports pass thru charging. Not sure if that's a typical feature of portable monitors.

Costco has a 15.6" Acer portable $89.99 monitor that will be $10 off starting Oct.31. It has a few more features than the OP's one.

How fragile are these for travel? I needed one on a recent trip but didn't get one because of this worry. Doesn't seem like it comes with a case/sleeve made to fit this. I'd rather not chuck it into a laptop sleeve and find it broken. Please comment on checked bag and carry on scenarios.
It IS fragile. I put mine into laptop neoprene sleeves and then into any bag and then baby the bag.

I don't think it would survive the air travel too many times unless you always kept it with you.

In what ways is the Acer one (https://www.costco.com/p/-/acer-1...4000319402) better?

The MSI has a better response time (4ms vs 6ms), has a full sized HDMI port (vs mini HDMI on the Acer), includes a sleeve (seems the Acer one doesn't), and has an extra USB-A to USB-C cable.
