Can you link to any other tablets with better specs for this price? The only other option is the refurb Minisforum tablet with Ryzen 7735U and 16GB RAM, but it's a Chinese brand and a lot of people over here are weary of that.
It's a tablet, you're not going to be coding or editing photos and videos on it, 8GB RAM is adequate for general productivity, reading or editing documents, and media consumption, which this tablet is primarily for, esp. at this price.

keep in mind that literally all tablets (even the ipad) are made in china. And US laptops are made in china too. you're much better off with that refurb miniforum. If you're not going to be running any serious apps why even get a windows tablet? That's kinda the whole point of a windows tablet. Just get some android tablet if all you're gonna do is consume media.

It's not even about price. 8GB was not enough even when they manufactured this thing. 8GB means the SSD is used as very slow RAM. I have a 16GB SP9, and it regularly uses around 16GB of RAM just for light productivity tasks. My old 8GB SP7 is painfully slow and uses a massive paging file.

Best way to determine what's a good deal for yourself is to find the Cinebench score for your current system (or similar CPU system), then compare with the surface.

Pull the Low price range from ebay (search for the surface model, filter by Completed and Sold items.) This will give you the realistic price for that surface. Much higher? Ripped off.

Also compare vs used SP9 prices.
This deal is about $120-70 above what you can get ebay.
