I've learned over the years that this medium size is by far the best and most versatile size, and that the best way to pack using cubes is to just use ONLY this size in a variety of colors to help keep things straight.
The medium-only sets rarely go on sale. It's usually when a cookie is discontinued, like this one. We didn't have green yet so thanks!
Bottom line: These are great for organization. I love them particularly in situations where you are living out of a suitcase or duffel bag and hopping from location to location and don't want to unpack/repack everything every time.
But if your goal is to pack as much as possible into a suitcase, the optimal solution is to not use cubes at all, but to get a suitcase or duffel with compression straps.
