Do not buy hoses that do not have brass ends. They will fuse to your spigot. Wish I could auto post this on every deal like this.

Great PSA. In addition other than plastic (works with everything) if you match brass to brass or aluminum to aluminum you should be fine. But if there's any mixing of the two metals make sure to use a few wraps of plumbers tape before connecting them for any length of time. Then there's a good chance you can get them separated. I wish I learned a lot sooner…

Step 0: Get your water treated if your local source runs hard. It didn't matter for me whether I had brass ends or not, because hard water will fuse anything to your spigot if you don't dettach it after every single use.

This $5 hose will cost owners $250 in spigot replacement in the future as it welds itself to it.

Wouldn't that need the female connection on both end? From photo it appears that it is male at one like a regular hose.

I use a short hose like this to siphon out a fountain and to connect to a rain barrel so that it can drain to a grate.

Yeah I had a very old hose that I was planning to replace when it wore out. Last fall my wife kept telling me she wanted it out to wash her car (yeah right). Had to hit it with a torch to get it off...

It's hard to find a small male hose thread to female hose thread plastic adapter, but these from US Plastics are inexpensive and UV resistant. Good insurance to place between aluminum and brass. https://www.usplastic.com/catalog...mid=145557
