Only another $60 more (before promo code) in the configurator for a bump up to the 500-nits, 2560x1600, 240hz refresh rate IPS panel seems like the slickest option.

The OLED panel in this is reported to flicker if anyone is sensitive the that. The IPS panels do not have any flickering.

Really like HP's design philosophy on the Omen Max line this generation: full-power everything, no throttling, if the user doesn't like the fan noise they can customize fan and power settings on their own.

Good to see a gaming laptop with actual advanced optimus and G-sync. Too many "gaming" laptops posted these days without adaptive sync making the front page IMO. Like the 2025 Lenovo Legion 5.

Omen is a step down in build quality & cooling, but much better specs for the price. A comparable Lenovo 7 Pro with 5070 TI would be ~$1800 on sale. Perhaps the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 series is more comparable in price and build quality to the Omen Max.
