Maybe it's me but $500 for a strap watch? Also 38mm is too small for me in today's world. I haven't worn my Movado Museum in years because of the size. On my wrist, it looks like a little boy's watch.

Looks good to me, I don't have a 38mm Hamilton yet, or a hand wind only movement field watch. I have the black titanium auto in the larger case and it has held up well.

Most field watches are both nylon or nato strapped and under 40mm. As a watch collector, I can tell you, smaller sizing is the trend. Could be a good thing for you if you like larger watches they should be in less demand and thus less expensive. Going forward.

Something rare happened at Watches and Wonders: nearly all the exhibitors agreed on one thing—downsizing case diameters is no longer just a choice, it's a given. But why? For whom? And how exactly? WorldTempus investigates.

Also have the black titanium, very good watch. Has been accurate thus far only thing I hated was the strap. Swapped it for a NATO strap which felt a bit better. Considering this for the hand winding, don't have one of those yet.

I have more watches than wrists so I'm just browsing but in addition to trends, as you get older, your sight worsens and for me, it's easier to look at a larger size dial. Separately, as I posted before; on my wrist, a 38mm is too small.

It's not my problem that you have a elephant's wrist

My limit is 42mm, however, I have a few tool-watches at 45/46mm, but I almost never wear them.
