RTINGS Review - https://www.rtings.com/soundbar/r...g/hw-q990d
8.6/10 for Mixed Usage - "The Samsung Q990D is excellent for mixed usage. This bar can do it all. It has a very balanced and neutral sound, so it sounds versatile enough for movies, TV shows, and music. It delivers thumpy and punchy bass, too, thanks to its subwoofer, and you can even customize its sound thanks to its robust sound enhancement features. This bar supports a lot of different audio formats and can play Dolby Atmos content to give you a really immersive and dimensional audio experience."

The HW Q990D is being treated as a top tier all around soundbar package, with balanced sound, punchy bass from the subwoofer, and strong Dolby Atmos support that makes movies and regular TV sound immersive. It is also praised for easy wireless setup, since only power needs to be wired, and the rear speakers can be placed near the main unit if needed. Reported drawbacks include occasional echo with Samsung TV Q Symphony, Bluetooth unpairing, and some setup resets to restore bass or audio. A few comments also flag Samsung firmware and support concerns, so it stands out most for home theater impact and flexibility.
The deal can stack with additional discounts and cashback to reach an effective price near the mid-$400s after tax.
The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos and multiple audio formats for immersive movie and TV playback.
The system can deliver punchy bass through its subwoofer for fuller sound during mixed usage.
The setup can place rear speakers near the main speaker using an in-setup option for flexible room layouts.
Q-Symphony can cause an echo issue on Samsung TV connections until the soundbar and TV are reset.
Bluetooth can occasionally unpair itself, which can interrupt listening until the connection is reestablished.
Firmware updates reportedly can brick the system, and customer service may require shipping at the buyer's expense for repair or replacement.
Some buyers question the $700-class pricing because the setup may not feel like a full-scale multi-channel home theater system.

In one condo I have a complete Sonos Arc system with two subs and the most recent Era 300 rears. In my other condo, I have this Samsung system.
I love the Samsung more than the Sonos.
I love that the Samsung offers adaptive sound setting so when I'm watching regular shows, it sounds amazing.
Bang for buck you will never find a system that can beat this especially at this amazing price.
Room environment plays a major role in sound quality.
Then again, soundbars don't play by the same rules either.
Like with traditional "home theater" setups.
You're more likely referencing what people often call diminishing returns.
You even pointed this out with the "bang for buck" statement.
This is a subjective of course. You will easily find some saying Sonos is better & worth the extra cost.

After you order you can tell them you want to cancel or return the item (might have to wait for it to actually arrive?) and they will usually give you a partial refund if you agree to keep it. In my case I was able to get them to refund me an extra $70 on this deal.
I ordered this last week when the deal first went live and it finally arrived earlier this week. I can definitely see why its so highly-rated/popular as its one of the best soundbar systems I've personally heard. Sounds amazing with the S95F's Q-Symphony.
